Ukrainian fairy tales – love at first sight
Many representatives of modern youth are skeptical about such a form of creativity in literature as fairy tales. They consider reading fairy tales to be an outdated activity, which is why they ignore this genre, making a significant mistake. In fact, fairy tales are popular regardless of modernity and the development of progress. However, this negative attitude towards fairy tales among Ukrainian youth did not arise by chance. There is a significant flaw in the educational program in schools, and a reluctance of parents to instill in their children the habit of reading fairy tales from an early age. Therefore, let’s work together to correct the situation that has arisen. Specifically, let’s teach our children to read fairy tales in the Ukrainian language.
What is a fairy tale?
In everyday speech, this term denotes that a fairy tale is a fabrication and has no relation to real events. A fairy tale should also be considered one of the directions of artistic prose, implying a short narrative. Educational fairy tales for children contain fictional events that have nothing in common with reality but retain a hidden meaning that illustrates a specific situation. Fairy tales emerged from folk legends, but the storytelling of fairy tale events should be done in such a way that they create the impression of a true story. Fantastic events are presented as if they could indeed have occurred in the past or present. The oldest fairy tales in the Ukrainian ethnic group are stories about animals; they had a special magical influence on our ancestors, which is why they were given a special place in folklore.
