This publication contains letters from representatives of the Women's Sultanate in the Ottoman Empire, which shed light on the style of business and even their character and are published in Ukrainian for the first time. These are the love correspondence of Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska (Roxolana) with her husband, Sultan Suleiman, and diplomatic - with the Hungarian Queen Isabella Jagiellonian, Polish King Sigismund II Augustus and the Persian Princess Sultan. At the same time, the messages of Roxolana's successors, Valide Nurban and Safia, to the Doge of Venice, Queen Catherine de 'Medici of France, and Elizabeth I of England, are also quoted.
The book covers extensively unknown facts in Ukraine from the biography of these women, which follow not only from their personal correspondence, but also from archival documents of Turkey, Italy, France, England and Poland, Ottoman chronicles and discoveries of Turkish scholars. All this will allow the reader to assess the role and influence of women in public affairs and to better understand the processes that took place at that time in the Ottoman Empire and the world during the XVI-XVII centuries.
