Olga Kobylyanska's story "Earth" (the writer called it a short story), using modern terminology, can be considered a true psychological thriller.
The work was based on an event that happened in 1894 in the village of Dymtsi in Bukovina. In one of the peasant families there, the younger brother kills the older one in order to become the sole heir to the father's land.
Full of drama and simply some superhuman experiences, the story fills the reader's imagination literally from the first pages and keeps him in suspense until the last episode.
The story was staged and filmed.
It has been translated into many languages of the world.
